The Curse of The White Converse.

Hey guys,

This Christmas I received a pair of White Converse from my dear friend Saint Nicholas, and it is safe to say that I was delighted- I couldn't wait to wear them all day, everyday as a complete staple to my wardrobe...so why is it that they have been worn not once and stayed safely tucked away in it's shoe box gathering dust?

Well, they are just so flippin... white.

There is something so unbelievably off-putting about seeing pristine white converse and I desperately need to wear them around and get them looking worn. At the moment they are a luminous white that seems to glow in daylight and I cringe whenever I wear them outside.

In the words of Alexa Chung in her book 'It':

Saying all this, I don't want to turn them an unattractive shade of brown. I live in the country and if I wear them on a walk or to the park, they will be absolutely wrecked- do you see my dilemma?

Seriously though, if any of you have any tips as to how to make White Converse look worn (without actually wearing them), let me know! Have any of you encountered this problem?

See you soon x

  2. Haha. Maybe you should really just wear them a bit more often. Don't wear them too often and they won't go to grey

  7. I have these same Converse and I like to have them looking fresh! Just wear them for a few walks (by yourself if you're that embarassed), not go wandering through mud... but just walking around on the pavement will slightly scuff them. You don't want big stains on the white!

  11. This is the dilemma of my life when I get new converse, although I have never had white converse before so it has never been this much of a problem! Just wear them when your popping out somewhere close to your house and they will get a bit more worn in so you can wear them out properly
